(artwork made by me) "Higher Power" is a song by British rock band Coldplay from their ninth album Music of the Spheres. It was released on 7 May 2021 as the lead single The band played ‘Higher Power’ for the first time, to French astronaut, Thomas Pesquet, who was listening from the International Space Station Telling Thomas about the meaning behind the lyrics, Chris Martin said: “The song is about trying to find the astronaut in all of us, the person that can do amazing things.”

(cover by admiral price)  Shown in a list of songs written on a whiteboard that were being considered for the band's sixth studio album in the making of Ghost Stories was recorded alongside Always in My Head in the Madeon sessions. Was also remade for their seventh album with different lyrics but was later scrapped. An studio version of the track was leaked onto the internet.

  The band’s gift for soaring melodies is evident throughout  Ghost Stories —particularly on the magnetic first single, “Magic.” Chris Martin’s heart-rending falsetto floats along in a haze of synth-washed ambience (as on the entrancing  Kid A –influenced “Midnight”) or sparely accompanied by acoustic instruments (“Oceans,” “O”).  Ghost Stories  demonstrates the expressive power of understatement.
